Nashville Skyline Painting
The first Saturday Art Crawl of 2010 will feature new paintings by Lost Boy of Sudan, James Makuac. James has created several new paintings for the January 2010 First Saturday Art Crawl. James' paintings have been admired since they were first exhibited at the Frist Center a couple of years ago when all 12 of his paintings included in the exhibit were sold. He currently has 15 new paintings that will be seen for the first time during the first art crawl of 2010 on January 9th from 6-9pm. Also on exhibit are beautiful photographs of Sudan, hand crafted clay/ceramic masks, sculptures, and pottery.

James was born in 1976 in the village of Baidit, Bortown in Southern Sudan. The horrors that James witnessed as a very young boy, as well as the joys experienced in his lifetime, have inspired him to become an artist.  Through his paintings he vividly tells the story of the Lost Boys' journey and history -- a story of trauma and unwavering hope. Stop by and appreciate 15 of his new works on January 9th.
